Novità sulla Dingo Pictures: dopo il kickstarter

Dopo la proficua raccolta fondi per il documentario sullo studio tedesco Dingo Pictures, che ha raccolto 9.818 euro, DJ Kaito ha pubblicato un video sul suo canale YouTube per spiegare la direzione che prenderà il progetto del documentario e il futuro dello studio sotto la nuova gestione.

Al momento della registrazione del video non c’era una data stabilita per le riprese, a causa della situazione sanitaria attuale in Germania e la distanza fisica tra gli organizzatori del documentario. Poi il 16 settembre il profilo ufficiale twitter di Dingo Pictures ha annunciato che le riprese inizieranno nella prima settimana di ottobre. Nel frattempo, le attività della nuova Dingo Pictures sono costantemente in corso.

In primo luogo, sono stati presi numerosi accordi per le interviste! Tra i creatori di contenuti intervistati confermati abbiamo: Phelan Porteous, Caddicarus e Matt Presents dal lato inglese di YouTube e Malternativ nel lato tedesco; il musicista Bernt Möhrle che lavorò alla Dingo; M. Beausejour della Dingo Pictures Wiki. Inoltre, il gruppo è riuscito a ottenere materiale multimediale di un’intervista a uno dei fondatori, Ludwig Ickert, filmata da altri documentaristi prima della sua morte nel 2019.

Una volta completato, si intende distribuire il documentario in DVD e BluRay grazie a una collaborazione in corso con un team esperto in restauro di film per rimasterizzare le produzioni Dingo in alta qualità e organizzare la distribuzione, però non è ancora cosa certa e le negoziazioni sono in corso. D’altra parte, Jimmy Beeblebrox ha contatti con il canale televisivo Cartoon Network (ramo tedesco) per una possibile trasmissione televisiva del documentario! Si aspettano notizie su questa possibilità, ancora non confermata.

Inoltre, per quanto riguarda il merchandise, si stanno prendendo accordi con una compagnia per produrre vestiti e gadget, anche se si attendono ulteriori informazioni per la conferma. Quello che è certo è che l’etichetta discografica di DJ Kaito, Vier Sterne Deluxe Records, sta preparando l’uscita di canzoni dai film e le pellicole stesse sotto forma di sceneggiato radio. In questo momento si possono comprare CD della sigla di Wabuu e preordinare gli sceneggiati radio. Il primo, Sing mit Aladin, è già disponibile su iTunes e Amazon. Al momento il piano di uscita prevede uno sceneggiato radio al mese.

Dingo Pictures news: after the kickstarter

After the successful crowdfunding for the documentary about German studio Dingo Pictures, which collected 9.818 euros, DJ Kaito released a video on his YouTube channel to explain the direction the documentary project will take and the future of the studio under the new management.

At the moment of recording the video there was not a defined date for filming, due to the current health situation in Germany and the physical distance between the documentary organizers. Then, on September 16 Dingo Pictures' official twitter account announced  that filming will begin in the first week of October. Meanwhile, the activities of the new Dingo Pictures are constantly in progress.

First of all, several interview deals were made! Among the confirmed content creators interviewed we have: Phelan Porteous, Caddicarus and Matt Presents for the English side of YouTube and Malternativ for the German side; musician Bernt Möhrle who worked for Dingo; M. Beausejour from the Dingo Pictures Wiki. Furthermore, the team managed to obtain footage of an interview with one of the founders, Ludwig Ickert, recorded by other documentary filmmakers before his death in 2019.

Once completed, the documentary is intended to be distributed on DVD and BluRay thanks to a current collaboration with a team expert in film restoration to remaster the Dingo productions in high quality and organize the distribution, but it’s not a certain thing yet and negotiations are still in progress. On the other hand, Jimmy Beeblebrox has contacts with television channel Cartoon Network (German branch) for a possible television release of the documentary! We await more news about this possibility, as it is not yet confirmed.

Moreover, in the merchandise field, deals are being arranged with a company to produce apparel and gadgets, even though we await more info for the confirmation. What is certain is that DJ Kaito’s label, Vier Sterne Deluxe Records, is preparing the release of songs from the movies and the films themselves in the form of radio plays. You can currently buy CDs of the Wabuu theme and preorder the radio plays. The first one, Sing mit Aladin, is already available on iTunes and Amazon. Up to this day the release plan is one radio play each month.

Novedades sobre Dingo Pictures: después del kickstarter

Después de la exitosa financiación colectiva para el documental sobre el estudio alemán Dingo Pictures, que recogió 9.818 euros, DJ Kaito publicó un video en su canal YouTube para explicar la dirección que el proyecto del documental tomará y el futuro del estudio bajo su nueva gestión.

Al momento de la grabación del video no había una fecha definida para la filmación, debido a la situación sanitaria corriente en Alemania y a la distancia física entre los organizadores del documental. Luego, el 16 de septiembre la cuenta twitter oficial de Dingo Pictures anunció que la filmación empezará en la primera semana de octubre. Entretanto, las actividades de la nueva Dingo Pictures están constantemente en curso.

¡En primer lugar, se tomaron numerosos acuerdos para las entrevistas! Entre los creadores de contenidos entrevistados confirmados tenemos: Phelan Porteous, Caddicarus, y Matt Presents en el lado anglófono de YouTube y Malternativ en el lado alemán; el músico Bernt Möhrle que trabajó en Dingo; M. Beausejour de la Dingo Pictures Wiki. Además, el equipo llegó a obtener material multimedial de una entrevista a uno de los fundadores, Ludwig Ickert, grabada por otros documentalistas antes de su muerte en 2019. 

Una vez completo, se quiere distribuir el documental en DVD y BluRay gracias a una colaboración en curso con un equipo experto en restauración de películas para remasterizar las producciones de Dingo en alta calidad y organizar la distribución, pero no es todavía una cosa cierta y las negociaciones están en curso. ¡Por otro lado, Jimmy Beeblebrox tiene contactos con el canal de televisión Cartoon Network (departamento alemán) para un posible estreno televisivo del documental! Además, en el ámbito del merchandise, se están haciendo los arreglos con una compañía para producir vestimenta y gadget, aunque se esperan más informaciones para la confirmación. Lo que ya es cierto es que el sello discográfico de DJ Kaito, Vier Sterne Deluxe Records, está preparando el estreno de canciones de las películas y las pelis mismas bajo forma de radionovela.  Ahora mismo se pueden comprar CD del tema musical de Wabuu y preordenar las radionovelas. La primera, Sing mit Aladin, ya está disponible en iTunes y Amazon. Hasta la fecha el plan de lanzamiento es una radionovela cada mes.

Phelan Porteous è il principale creatore di contenuti in inglese sui film della Dingo Pictures (e molto altro), mentre in Italia lo studio è conosciuto principalmente grazie ai video di Yotobi e Synergo.

If you are accustomed to the community of animation fans on YouTube, you probably already heard of Dingo Pictures: the small German studio known for its productions, cheap knock-offs of famous (often Disney) films, with incredibly limited animations and amateur voice acting. These low cost films fit perfectly the “so bad it’s good” category, and for this they soon became object of analysis by YouTube channels and source of many, numerous memes, such as the well-known Yee. Phelan Porteous is the main creator of English content about the Dingo Pictures films (and much more), while in Italy the studio is mainly known thanks to Yotobi and Synergo’s videos.

Founded in 1992 under the name Media Concept, then Dingo Productions and finally Dingo Pictures in 1996, the studio started with audio narration of fairytales accompanied by illustrations. Later, with a bif of ambition they introduced rudimental animation blatantly plagiarizing many Disney works, entering in their era of mockbuster films production. The films, originally voiced in German, were dubbed (occasionally by the same German actors) in different European languages. The English dub is known for being extremely amateurish and full of errors in the soundtrack, with occasionally overlapping tunes. Dingo Pictures’ last production was completed in 2005, but the website kept existing until it shut down in 2021.
